Mounjaro Patient Information

It is very important that you are on effective contraception while using Mounjaro as you should NOT become pregnant.

If you are not on any contraception and believe you are of child bearing potential (from the start of your periods to the age of 55 and with a womb) then please (if you have not already done so) arrange an appointment to discuss contraception as soon as possible and avoid sexual intercourse in the meantime.

If you are using oral contraception (for example “the pill”) or any oral (tablet) HRT for menopause treatment then this is likely to be less effective while using a weight loss injectable.

For contraception this may put you at risk of an unplanned pregnancy and for HRT this may increase your risk of cancerous or pre-cancerous changes in the lining of the womb.

If you are on any oral contraception or HRT and using weight loss injectables, if you haven’t already done so, please get in touch with your surgery so they can ensure you are on appropriate hormonal contraception or HRT.
